Coached Open Water Session

When:

  • Thursday evenings 6-7pm Mallory Park meeting at the Cabin.

What:

  • This session is designed for both short and long course athletes and the focus is to make Open Water Swimming as comfortable as possible ensuring that pool progress translates to racing.
  • The session is typically 2000-3000m is distance.

Who:

  • This session is best suited to athletes who regularly swim in the pool and are not beginners with Open Water Swimming.
  • The session will have some technical focusses such as sighting, cornering, starts, group positioning but the key component is learning from scenarios within the session, and we often take video to help reflect and learn.

Cost :

  • £8 per session.
  • Or you can make use of the bundles on the Gym Catch site to pay in bulk for the sessions.

Coached Open Water Session

Coached Swim session

When:

  • Monday evenings 7-8.15pm Atherstone Leisure Complex.

What:

  • This is session is designed for both short and long course athletes and lane paces are currently on average as follows: Lane 1 2min per 100m critical pace, lane 2 1.45 per 100m critical pace, lane 3 1.30 per 100m critical pace, lane 4 1.20 per 100m critical pace.
  • The session starts with a technical warm up giving some context on the stroke principles we are working on before going into a main set which changes focus each week. Set distances are on average 2500-3500m depending on the lane you’re in.

Who:

  • Youth, junior and senior athletes are all welcome to the session and ideally will fit into the current lane average paces.

Cost:

  • £8 per session.
  • Or you can make use of the bundles on the Gym Catch site to pay in bulk for the sessions.

  • Wednesday evenings 6-7pm Mallory Park meeting at the Cabin.

What:

  • This session is designed for developing bike skills and applying them to race scenarios. This covers transitions, cornering, riding in a group.
  • We’ll typically do 15-30 mins of skills just on the chicane which may include transition practice, dead turns, madison change overs before moving into some efforts as a group on the bigger track loop.
  • The chicane loop we have to ourselves and the Mallory Park Circuit is traffic free.

Who:

  • The session is best suited to athletes who complete draft legal racing.
  • We have youth, junior and senior athletes attending the session.

Cost:

  • £8 per session.
  • Or you can make use of the bundles on the Gym Catch site to pay in bulk for the sessions.

Coached Cycling Session

When:

  • Tuesday evenings 6-7pm Mallory Park meeting at the Cabin.

What:

  • This session is designed for both short and long course athletes.
  • Main sets range from 4-8km and the session typically lasts an hour.
  • Rep ranges change week to week and could be anything from 400m to 2000m.

Who:

  • We currently have youth, junior and senior athletes attending the session with 5k times ranging from 16-20mins, although we have scope to cater for those running outside that range.
  • During the summer months the sessions are on the outer part of the circuit (off road) although trail shoes are not needed.
  • During the Winter months the sessions are completed on the floodlit track.
