02 Sep Sharon wins her age group at the National Sprint Triathlon Championships
Sharon: “Proud to call myself English National Champion after taking top spot on the podium at the English Sprint Triathlon National Championships at Mallory Park in July. As always a great race put on by Race Rapid and the team at a great venue.
I had an OK swim, but still not where I want to be with my swim times. Then out onto the bike, this was a draft legal race but I ended up riding the whole distance on my own. In my experience this can sometimes happen in draft legal races as it just depends on who’s around you when you exit in the swim and if there are any athletes of similar ability you can work with on the bike. A good bike leg set me up for a good run off the bike to finish in first place in my age group and take the win.“
Chris “Sharon had a great performance at Mallory to win her AG and race competitively in the overall field. We are still working on developing the Open Water swimming which will make for more good progress!”
