About the coach – Chris Hine

Chris has gained 7 years coaching experience since graduating from a Sport and Exercise Science degree from Loughborough University. He is also a graduate of the British Triathlon Level 3 high performing coach course.

I understand the demands of progressive endurance training for both age group and professional athletes and aim to ensure the training process maintains elements of fun and elicits positive experiences with sport and exercise to encourage lifelong participation.”

Get fit

This refers to working on an athlete’s mechanical weaknesses, injury prevention or working on a specific physiological variable identified via testing or racing history. Training is prescribed on software called Todays Plan. From a coach’s perspective this software streamlines planning and training block feedback and allows greater individualisation of training parameters.

This refers to developing race specific elements such as pacing, equipment, fuelling and technique in the end goal of going as quick as possible!

Have fun

Endurance training is time consuming and sometimes tedious, talking things through with your coach and training with company can help counteract that. We aim to make the training process as balanced and appropriate as we can within each athlete’s context and values.
