Open Water coached session

This session is ideal for intermediate to advanced triathletes who’d like some structure to their session which is periodised through the season and includes race specific skill practice.

Athletes are expected to be comfortable completing 2500-3000m swim sets regularly and have experience swimming in Open Water.

The aim of the sessions are to ensure athletes can cope with the demands of Open Water race environments and ensure their pool swimming ability transfers over to race day!

Sessions are completed most Tuesday evenings from 6.15-7.15pm

Cycling coached session

This session is ideal for intermediate to advanced triathletes competing in non drafting racing.

It will be periodised through the season and the session structure can be individualised based off the athletes profile.

The aim of the session is to utilise the circuit terrain to deliver controlled and specific sessions in position to prepare for race day demands. Running off the bike, riding in groups and with a non drafting zone will be regular components

Please contact us if you compete in drafting racing and would like to participate.

Sessions are usually on a Wednesday evening from 6.15 to 7.15pm

Field aerodynamic assessment (Coming soon)

Aerodynamic drag is a key performance parameter in cycling and is becoming ever more quantifable at all performance levels. With access to the track at Mallory Park we have the scope to control test conditions tightly and provide athletes with drag estimates in the field using a Notio Kinect sensor.

Take the guess work out of your position and kit decisions and allow us control the variables, compute the data and recommend your fastest options.

In order to provide the athlete with meaningful data, multiple trials with incremental adjustments are required and consequently the athlete will be expected to ride approximately 90 mins in position at a stable effort throughout the session (with breaks).

Ideally the athlete will have their own left/right power meter to use the during session, however we can provide power pedals if required.

Run movement screening (coming soon)

With this service we aim to provide the athlete with tools to become more aware of their movement both in their run training and daily routine to encourage more efficient running and reduce the likelihood of injuries.

Efficiency is a major component of endurance performance determinants and so any improvement here will be pushing those PB’s down. We see running as a skilled movement, which with specific and focussed effort can be optimised for efficiency over time.

We will provide video and gait feedback via Run Scribe pods. The athlete will be required to run intervals of 2-3 min duration of various efforts with regular intervals for coaching points.

It is beneficial to take the shoes you most commonly run in for various intensities to compare during the session.

This session will be beneficial for any level runner who wants to become more aware of their running movement.

Bike profiling (coming soon)

With this service we aim to offer the athlete insight on what training might work best for them, gauge the effectiveness of training blocks and receive encouragement for those tough test days!

The sessions consists of individualized incremental step test to exhaustion to estimate aerobic capacity and a two parameter critical power protocol to decipher sustainable power.

The exact targets are written based off the athletes individual pre information.

This session will work well if you want to understand a bit more about your physiology and optimise the intervals you are completing.
